I placed an order a month ago and they never shipped it out ( according to the order tracking). When I contacted customer service they refused a refund!? What!? Are they going bankrupt now they are just scamming customers and keeping their money? I think a lot of people are experiencing similar situation, where can we file a class action law suit?
I've bought a few things from FP and on my most recent purchase I've found Customer Service is appalling.
I ordered a jacket in May; order accepted, payment taken, no issues.
Scrolled through to the bottom of my email confirmation a few weeks later to find a note in the small print to say the item I had ordered was not in stock again until August.
Thinking I might have missed this notification when ordering, I went through the ordering process again and got to the ‘pay now' button, again with no notification that the item was on back order.
I emailed FP to ask for clarification; not only does it take a long time to get a response, a different representative responded on each occasion and never seemed to have read the original or previous emails and be willing to listen and respond. Each email gave the minimum response and information, and put the onus on me to find a positive resolution; they clearly didn't care about the original error or want to support me in solving the problem.
I was due to be away at the time my order was meant to be dispatched and was told that:
I couldn't change the address(even though it hadn't been dispatched and wasn't due to be for over a week);
I could cancel my order(which I didn't want to do).
After asking for further clarification, I got an email to say my order had been cancelled. No further explanation, no reference to where I had requested this(I hadn't), no addressing the issue around the product being on back order without any notification being given.
I get it's not the biggest thing considering what is happening in the world right now, but their stuff costs a small fortune and they should be putting some of their profits at least into some quality customer service.
I won't be buying from here again and would recommend avoiding at all costs; it's just not worth the hassle when something goes wrong.

EXCELLENT REFUND POLICY !!!
I just want to write a review how excellent free peoples return policy is...as soon as you process the refund..will be in your acct in 2 working days.. dont need to have the hassle of finding ink for your printer etc as the post office can just swipe the QR code they send you....Fantastic refunds policy !! and will def make me shop with them time and again. ! receiving the shipping email can take 2-3 days which is the longest part, but once shipped is pretty fast & efficient.
I love their clothes and was willing to pay their prices, but I will no longer purchase from them since they use Lasership. Lasership continuously "delivers" only to mysteriously NEVER arrive. I pay A LOT of money for these clothes and for them to use such a scam of a "delivery" service is a disservice to their customers. FreePeople should think of their consumers; Lost monies and products never received. This is damaging to your reputation and you have lost a good customer because I have had enough of paying for products I do not receive!
Really one of a kind clothes! Their style, aesthetic and designs is really me at this stage of my life (20's). They have that laidback, bohemian look i love. The fabric is mostly good quality but there have been some parcels where items were missing.
They've got somewhat good customer service with wrong orders because of the chat support but super unhelpful when it comes to everything else, ie. Fit, stock on items and when they'll be available.
My biggest gripe is how expensive it is and that they run out of stock so quickly! Sometimes, I think they just have an out of stock item out for months to mess with you so you look again. I'd check something I'd been eyeing for months sometimes and every size is sold out every single time on the website. Super annoying.
Nonetheless, I can't stop adding stuff to my wish list on here cause wherever I look, every thing is adorable but I wish they'd stop charging so much.
His is a quest of not wanting to cooperate and not wanting to provide customer service. A typical case of bureaucracy
Why?
You send me the wrong article, which you can check in the administration
You ask me to return this article.
I got my money back for the item.
I admit it is not helpful to lose my proof of shipment.
In return I offer you a "" Standard "" shipping option.
So you transfer the shipping costs to me without tracking and pur from address to address.
I paid 19 euros for a totally wrong item BY YOU.
Standard costs are probably less.
Obviously, I had to pay a fee to send the item your way.
It would be nice if there was some kind of free carrier pigeon service, but it is also clear that the gnomes don't send parcels.
I am mega disappointed by the turn of events. Especially because an employee indicated that I could "" just "" return it and you "" Of course "" would pay the money for shipping.
If you do not pay me the costs incurred, I will take other steps and file a complaint on every complaints website.
Good advertising is fast. Bad advertising faster.
I am a UK customer and have purchased on many occasions from FP and until last year I was satisfied with the custom. However recently items from orders were not included in the delivered package contrary to the paperwork and payments taken. I was refunded for 2 items the third refund took approximately 3 months while I was bounced from pillar to post. Eventually I had a refund. Recently I had an email informing me that FP has put a hold on my account as I have not returned an item- the item which was NEVER delivered. I am speechless. Not sure if this will be sorted otherwise I will need to seek legal representation.
I suggest you not to order from abroad. On feb13th I Order a 128$ blouse and It was supposed to be an express shipping: I followed the tracking process. It took almost 20 days to go from the distribution center in Hayward CA to San Francisco CA. Then my package went lost. Today it’s March 9th, and the tracking page says the blouse is in London UK. I don’t think it will ever reach Rome, Italy, its final destination.
On the bright side, Customer service refund me the fullest!
I must admit that I was apprehensive about ordering in view of previous comments, but I loved the style of clothing so decided to risk it and I have to say that I did not encounter any issues. I ordered 3 tops and a sweatshirt via the Free People app and paid through PayPal. All 4 items arrived safely in 3 separate packages all within a couple of days of each other and with no major delays. Sizewise they fitted perfectly (I am a UK size 14 and so ordered medium). Only reason I didn’t give 5* is because I had to return the sweatshirt which was covered in holes, although returned this item free via Royal Mail and I received the full refund in less than a week.
Never confirmed order never send or recieved goods
I’ve shopped with Free People many times, had no issues. Recently ordered two t-shirts, with 5-8 days delivery time. Received one of the t-shirts fairly quickly, happy with it. However it’s been nearly 3 weeks and I’ve not received the second and the tracking information they sent does not work.
I’ve contacted Free People via Instagram and had no response and can’t find their email address, only postal....I’d rather just cancel my order as their pieces aren’t cheap yet I’m paying for something I have no idea where it is?
DO NOT ORDER FROM ABROAD. terrible customer service experience, they lost my package and refuse to give me my refund saying that it will arrive someday. i've been waiting for over a month and nothing came yet, and they refuse to give me my money back as well. win win for them i suppose and they get to keep my 200$? no way.
I am a Canadian purchaser. I did extensive research on sizing by reading reviews and using the size chart and nothing fit properly. I am athletic medium build, 5'8, who likes my clothing baggier, and these items were unwearably large. When I decided to go down a size in a bralette, it was far too small. It seems like there is no in between. I called customer service and they said they don't do exchanges internationally. I had to return it and repurchase another size, which ends up charging duty on it again. My very first order they sent in two separate packages, both with the total price of the one order. So, I had to pay 35 dollars in duty on each package when that should have been paid once. Plus the additional duty for the returns and repurchases. After spending $732 CAD, I would have expected much better customer service and refunds of additional duty charges. I have never dealt with a large cooporative company, who buys their clothes from poor countries like Vietnam and India, to handle customers like this. You know they are making millions, yet don't care about their customers. I am appalled by my experience with them. I feel extremely ripped off.
Stay away! They shipped product to wrong address. I never received.
They refuse to refund my account.
